Allied officials, public and private sector representatives, and European Commission officials met in The Hague (The Netherlands) on 1 and 2 October 2025, to share views on bolstering cooperation between the public and the private sectors, in response to crises and conflicts.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte arrived in Denmark on 1 October 2025. His visit began with a meeting with Prime Minister Keir Starmer of the United Kingdom. In the evening, Mr. Rutte was received by Their Majesties King Frederik X and Queen Mary.

NATO’s highest Military Authority, the NATO Military Committee, met in Riga, Latvia, on 26-27 September 2025. The 32 NATO Chiefs of Defence, together with the Strategic Commanders, discussed military developments within the Alliance, particularly in face of increasingly worrying threats to the Euro-Atlantic security, and in light of the decisions taken at the historic NATO Summit in The Hague, in June 2025.

On Friday 26 and Saturday 27 September, NATO Deputy Secretary General, Radmila Shekerinska visited Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) where she engaged in high-level meetings and participated in the Sarajevo Security Conference.

On Friday (26 September 2025), NATO Assistant Secretary General for Defence Industry, Innovation and Armaments, Ms Tarja Jaakkola, opened the first staff-to-staff dialogue on defence industrial cooperation and capabilities between NATO and the Republic of Korea. Ms Jaakkola and representatives of the Defence Acquisition Program Administration of the Republic of Korea discussed recent developments in the areas of defence industrial production and defence capabilities.

On Wednesday (24 September), NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte travelled to New York as the United Nations hosted its 80th General Assembly, engaging with political leaders and senior officials.

NATO and the Government of Canada have concluded an agreement on the co-location of the NATO Liaison Office (NLO) ​with the Canadian Permanent Mission to the UN in New York. Finalised on 24 September 2025​​, the temporary arrangement ​is intended as a stepping stone toward a more permanent one.
