We are pleased to announce the official launch of “Introduction to Quality Assurance (QA) in Education and Individual Training”, an online course now available on the Allied Command Transformation (ACT) e-learning platform, JADL, under ADL 244 course code. This course represents a major advancement in our collective mission to enhance Quality Assurance across NATO’s Education and Training landscape.

Course Overview

As NATO’s commitment to a high standard of Education and Individual Training continues, this new online course will provide foundational knowledge that will be instrumental in helping all participants engaged in the Quality Assurance field. Designed to support NATO’s Global Programming Approach understanding, the course delivers a structured overview of both historical and modern quality systems, tailored specifically to NATO’s educational frameworks.

Key Components of the Course:

The course has been carefully designed to equip participants with an understanding of the essentials of QA, guiding them through basic concepts and describing the tools needed to apply QA principles effectively within NATO’s context. Some of the key topics covered include:

  • Evolution of Quality – A historical perspective on QA concepts and systems and their transformation over time.
  • Modern Quality Management Systems – Exploring the latest solutions and methodologies.
  • Quality in Education – Application of QA principles in NATO`s Education and Training spectrum.
  • Framework for NATO Quality Assurance – A tailored approach for NATO’s education and training institutions.
  • NATO Quality Assurance & Global Programming Approach – Understanding the specific frameworks, standards, and tools used in NATO.

These topics build a solid foundation that supports further exploration of the QA domain, culminating in the S7-137-NATO QA in Education and Individual Training (E&IT) course delivered by NATO School Oberammergau (NSO). By taking this online course as a prerequisite, learners are better prepared to understand and apply the more complex QA concepts taught in the residential course.

To support Education and Training Facilities across NATO, we are providing a SCORM package for this course content. By linking this resource here, we make it available for broader integration: institutions can upload the SCORM package directly into their own Learning Management Systems (LMS) if desired. This makes the course accessible to staff at each facility, enabling wider training opportunities and a greater reach for foundational NATO QA knowledge.

Institutions interested in adopting this course can have a preview of all the content without registration by signing in as a guest (preview link). The preview environment is based on Moodle, version 4.4.
