Throughout March 19-20, 2025, the HQ SACT Quality Assurance Team of Experts (QA ToE), consisting of MAJ Radu BALANESCU (ROU-A), Wg Cdr Kirk EVANS (GBR-AF), and LTC Elena OJALA (FIN-N), conducted an on-site visit to the Crisis Management and Disaster Response Centre of Excellence (CMDR COE).
The evaluation was based on the 31 NATO Quality Standards, focusing on the Centre’s dedication to Continuous Improvement and the effectiveness of its Quality Management System (QMS) in supporting NATO Education and Individual Training (E&IT).
The QA ToE will forward their recommendation regarding accreditation status to the DOS MDFD, who retains responsibility for the final accreditation decision. The positive and collaborative engagement from CMDR COE's leadership and staff significantly contributed to the comprehensive assessment of their compliance with NATO Quality Standards.
Following the visit, the QA ToE will recommend the Crisis Management and Disaster Response Centre of Excellence (CMDR COE) for UNCONDITIONAL ACCREDITATION for a six-year period, pending the DOS MDFD's final decision. This recommendation highlights NATO's unwavering dedication to high-quality education and training, promoting interoperability, and enhancing the Alliance's overall readiness and capability.
