The Partner Language Training Center Europe (PLTCE) is a Directorate of the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies. PLTCE strengthens European-led deterrence and defense by delivering the linguistic capabilities that unite Allies, Partners, and U.S. forces as a single, integrated force.
PLTCE has a dual mission. First, it enhances U.S. military linguists’ readiness in Europe through intensive, learner-focused training in key strategic languages. Second—what makes it unique—it strengthens NATO Allies’ and Partners’ institutional capacity for language interoperability in English by training test developers and teachers under NATO STANAG 6001.
PLTCE is Europe’s sole NATO-accredited provider of language interoperability training and expertise in English—breaking communication barriers, empowering partners, and enabling U.S. forces and Allies to operate as one.
